My Baby is Three!

Happy Birthday Eleanor!

Today was....interesting. First, and most surprisingly, we woke up to a foot of snow. The girls woke up a bit cranky. Eleanor quickly perked up when she got to pen her presents, but Lia was not happy at all the attention and special treatment her sister was getting. They ended up fighting quite a bit throughout the day, but they both loved getting to play in the snow. Eleanor was excited to bring cookies for her class at daycare. We made cupcakes and she decorated them after dinner. It was a pretty low-key day, no parties or visitors, but that was probably better anyway because of they way they were acting all day. Still, Enna had lots of fun playing with her new toys, eating treats all day, and getting some special birthday perks like a one-on-one shopping trip with Mom.

Snow on April 15!
She picked out the decorations, and then picked them all off. She didn't eat the cupcake OR the ice cream, but she had fun making the cupcakes!
Silly girl hates smiling for the camera. She knew I was trying to get a picture so she was spitting and then laughing, so I tried to get the picture while she was laughing!

Can I still call her my Baby if she's three now?

This girl has been a challenge the past few weeks, but boy do we love her! She is so full of attitude and personality. She makes the most hilarious faces and she laughs all day long.  She doesn't just walk around--she prances, waddles, hobbles, skips, dances, and wiggles from place to place, depending on her mood! She thinks she's just as big as Sister, and that she can do everything just as well.

She has been super snuggly lately--and also very clingy, which has been part of the frustration lately. At bedtime especially she only wants Mommy, and she cries and yells and runs out of her room until Dad goes up. For some reason, she'll go to bed for Dad, but not for me. She's been waking up in the night and then getting up early in the morning, and still won't nap at daycare.

She has been loving daycare lately. She loves her teachers and has a few friends in her class, especially Hailee, who yells "En-nor!" every time she sees Enna. It's cute. I told her a while ago that after her birthday she will be moving up to the three-year-old class, and she seems pretty excited about that, but I think when it actually happens she will really miss her twos class. It has been an awesome class for her.

She has been a weird eater lately. She suddenly loves meat of all kinds--except chicken nuggets, and she turns up her nose at things like candy, bread, peanut butter, and lots of other things. She hardly eats anything at meals, even her favorites.

Enna still loves playing with babies. Her favorite one is the "yellow" baby that was mine when I was a kid. It's a heavy doll and she can hardly carry it around, but it's her favorite. She named it Serena, after one of her teachers. Awww! She also likes coloring, but I think that's more because Lia loves coloring so Enna thinks she does too. She mostly just scribbles, but she's been starting to draw some faces with legs that are cute.

Eleanor talks all day long and says some of the cutest things, and  her voice is just the sweetest thing, with her lisp. She likes to use sound effects instead of words, like "shoot-shoot" instead of gun, "choo-choo" instead of train, "moo" instead of cow, and for some weird reason "dick-a-dick" instead of duck.

She HATES getting her hair done. Hates getting it washed, hates getting it combed, hates getting it styled. She wakes up every day with a rat's nest in the back, and there's always food in the front. So last Friday I took her to a friend to get her hair cut. I originally wanted a short bob, but we realized that with her curls it would probably not work. So instead she got an inch off the back and some layers and sweep-y bangs in front. It's much easier to comb through now (even though she still screams about it!).

She makes me smile and laugh every day. She makes me want to pull my hair out. She is so much fun and so adorable. I just love her!

Her bangs used to curl right around her eye like that. (Summer '14)

After haircut, plus beautiful eyes!
Sisters. Sometimes they play nicely all day, sometimes they scream at each other and fight and tease all day.
